From discovering life on other planets to preserving life on ours

Found Energy’s origins trace back to an unexpected source: space exploration. A former NASA scientist, Peter Godart was developing space robots that could power themselves by cannibalizing energy-dense aluminum components for energy once they were no longer needed.

When Peter decided to shift careers to focus on solving the most pressing problems on Earth, he retained this simple idea that solutions to problems are often hiding in plain sight. He saw that the same technology he had designed for space exploration could be used on Earth to unlock clean energy from abundant aluminum.

With this vision, Peter dedicated a PhD at MIT to developing a practical approach to turning aluminum into an efficient fuel. After solving a few gating technical challenges, he started Found Energy to take this technology out of the lab and into the market.

Today, our world-class team of engineers is committed to deploying aluminum fuel at scale, pioneering a new era of clean, secure, and sustainable energy.
